Violinist Paul Huang stopped by the Strings‘ studio to perform Eugène Ysaÿe‘s Sonata No. 3 in D minor, “Ballade.” Huang performs on the 1742 “Wieniawski” Guarneri del Gesù, which is named for the Polish composer and violinist Henryk Wieniawski (1835-1880). Wieniawski performed on many instruments during his career, including a few Stradivari, but is said to have favored the 1742 del Gesù.
