Enjoy some inspiration, courtesy of the New York Youth Symphony. These young musicians, ages 12–22, are from throughout the New York region and had to cancel their spring concert at Carnegie Hall due to coronavirus concerns. Undeterred, the 71-member orchestra, under the direction Michael Repper, decided to get together virtually from home isolation and perform this movement from Mahler’s Symphony No. 1. The video was edited by 18-year-old NYYS violinist Raina Tung.
