Shortly after a mid-day rehearsal for the Berkeley Early Music Festival in early June, violinist Rachel Podger stopped by the Strings studio to showcase some of her Baroque-period favorites.

Equipped with her Italian 1739 Pesarinius, built by a former student of Stradivari, she tackled Bach’s Violin Sonata No. 1 in G minor, BWV 1001, Adagio; and Heinrich Ignaz Franz Biber’s Rosary Sonata in G minor, Passacaglia.
