O’Connor Strikes Up New Tune with Trio

Biavas Return to Einfeldt Chamber Music Seminar
Administrators behind the third annual David Einfeldt Chamber Music Seminar at the University of Hartford in West Hartford, Connecticut, have announced that the Biava Quartet—violinists Austin Hartman and Hyunsu Ko, violist Mary Persin, and cellist Gwendolyn Krosnick—will return as ensemble-in-residence. Menuhin Competition Attracts Royalty
King Harald V of Norway has thrown his royal weight behind the 2010 Menuhin Competition by becoming a patron. The competition, which has accepted 42 violinists younger than 22, will take place in Oslo, Norway, from April 16 to 25, during which the legendary Norwegian violinist Ole Bull’s 200th anniversary will be celebrated. menuhincompetition.org
Danchenko Could Be Your Travel Guide
The Peabody Conservatory’s faculty artist and violinist Victor Danchenko will offer the master course the “Art of Performing Concertos with Orchestras” June 25–July 5 in St. Petersburg, Russia, with the help of the St. Petersburg Symphony Orchestra, led by principal guest conductor Vladimir Lande. Massive Juilliard Chamber Fest Set for Early January
The Juilliard School will be hosting its ninth annual ChamberFest, which features more than 70 Juilliard musicians in 20 ensembles. This year’s new additions will be students from Juilliard’s new Historical Performance Program coached by violinist Robert Mealy, and guests from the Royal Academy of Music.
